Did you know Long-tailed Tits are not true tits? They actually form a family of their own. All of them have the striking bushy "eyebrow", except for the northern race 'caudatus', they have complete snow-white faces.
Long-tailed Tits look incredibly cute. They have both cute little round heads and fluffy round bodies. The long tail looks a bit out of place in combination with so much roundness.
Long-tailed Tits are very social birds. Outside the mating season they hang out in large groups of mostly family members. They never leave someone behind and during the cold winter months they huddle together to stay warm.
During the mating season it sometimes happens that males can't find a mate or a couple loses their offspring to predators and they will start helping their neighbours with feeding their offspring.
